The FSC Forbha is the former orbital flagship of Consolidated Tekkia which was later refitted into a warship and sold to the Lake Periphery States before being presumed destroyed in The Shattering

Construction

Letter-Type Reusable Launchers

The Forbha was the first modular vessel placed into orbit using the C-Series single-stage launcher during the post-decline Formative Era. These new launch capabilies allowed much larger and longer-term vessels

Service History

Minmus Mission

On April 25th, 2043, the FSC Forbha entered the sphere of influence of Minmus and would make first external contact with the Solari Commonwealth since before the Great Decline. This event holds major contemporary signifigance for both Aontas and Solani and is a national bank holiday in both nations.

Military Refit

As part of Operation Scian, the creation of a Granderian buffer zone, the Forbha was refitted with early an early Reaction Cannon. This largely precautionary measure was intended to display a willingness to expend cheap munitions against the lagging Granderian space surveillance network. As the first Federal Orbital Warship pressed into service, the Forbha held the technical role of flagship from 2048-2065 whereupon she was permanently moored to homeport.

Resale

As part of nationbuilding exercises in The Reciprocal Lake Periphery States the Forbha and sister-ship Meabhal were included into a military aid package for the struggling nation. Reactions within the Tekkian government were mixed as it was strongly argued that the vessel held significant cultural and historical relevance to which it was argued that very little of the first vessel remained.

Her crew are around Duna, Her radiators flying above our heads, Her experiments module on the surface of Ike. What we are providing to our allies is no true representation of the vessel that first crossed the boundry into Minmus.
—Cllr. Donaghue

The bill to conduct this sale narrowly passed and would be transfered to the Reciprocity by Feburary 2071.

Destruction

On January 18, 2081 the Reciprocal government did the unthinkable, hundreds of slow-bombs descended upon the territory of the Reciprocty and of the CPD. The Forbha amongst them. Simulated trajectories have estimated the craft touched down in the city of Aerfel. Contemporary discussions often dub this "The first Aontan-Dorvic technology exchange"

Legacy

Dispersed Modules

In 2058 as part of the Nua Program the science and communications module used by the first Forbha Minmus mission was transferred to the under construction Duna Colonial Mothership built from the Balai station core. As of 2200, over 150 years since initial launch, the Aontan Colony of New Cath maintains and operates this array as emergency and backup communication.

In the steppeland east of Aerfel there is an urban legend which states that the refit armor shell of the militarised Forbha survived re-entry during the shattering and continued to see use as a sturdy, albiet heavy yurt until rust overtook the structure.

NameSake

The IFSC Forbha is an under contruction vessel being manufactured around Minmus. It is the first of a series of planned Aontan interstellar vessels utilising fusion confinement thrusters discovered in the mid 2190s.

Popular Media

Phoenian electro-folk group The X-2 Kerman Band produced an unpopular single regaling the vessels final hours. The track sold under 200 liscences and the band would dissolve 3 months later.

In 2165 the Laveskan Soyuzfilm studio školèskiz announced a limited series based upon events from the shattering which would feature a space focused episode. The series was cancelled after public backlash from reciprocal concern groups, decrying it as glorification of a tragedy.
