History

Ratoskal was founded by Hel Ratoskal in 2152 as a refrigeration company, before pivoting to defense in 2162 after recieving a contract from a desperate Novenadian government to license-build the Z-55B Carabinieri II and replace the aging L-23E. The transition was a success, and Ratoskal began accepting contracts for an ever expanding variety of military systems.

In 2186, Ratoskal submitted the "Skimer" proposal to the Novenad Defensive Navy as a cheaper, more multirole alternative to the current flotilla, more suited to the modern demands which were limited to operations in conjunction with allies. This was a radical change, predicated on the eventuality of Novenad joining the Pan-Veiidic Commonwealth. The proposal was a successful foray into the naval industry, and opened the door for future expansion. A year later, the Svila-class submarines went into design to augment the surface fleet.

In July of 2201, the Most Serene Republic of Shive purchased 5 Skimer-class frigates, one of two refitted arsenal ships under development, and a modernization of a ship-of-the-line, all to be delivered by 2205.
