The Cyten-Ward OZ-47 Thunderbird II, also widely known by the nickname OZ-47 Birddog, is a single-seat, twin-turbofan, straight-wing, subsonic attack aircraft developed fior the Confederate Air Force. In service since 2187, it is named after the Cyten Aerospace Industries A-01 Thunderbird strike-fighter of 2nd GKW, but is instead commonly referred to as the "Birddog" (sometimes simply "Dog"). The OZ-47 was designed to provide close air support (CAS) to ground troops by attacking enemy armored vehicles, tanks, and other ground forces. Its secondary mission is to direct other aircraft in attacks on ground targets, a role called forward air controller (FAC)-airborne.
