Development
In early 2178, CWI designers were working on refinement of the W-1055 Pleasurejet to accommodate smaller lines that needed quick travel between destinations, without the fuel savings of the Pleasurejet. It was put forward the idea to equip the same engine as the Z-41 Bearcat in a bid for the fastest private jet in the world. The resulting aircraft created controversy amongst CWI executives as to wether the aircraft would be designated a Private jet (WP) or commercial jet (W) in the company registry. In addition, Anssec was concerned the jet would cut into sales of their already existing private jets. To compromise, the W-050 was designated as a commercial jet and its sales were restricted, but it was an immediate hit upon release. The jet incoporated the wide body style of a commercial jet with the speed and comfort of a private aircraft, and its size on the tarmac dwarfed many other private jets. Delivery of the jet was limited to just 2 per year, and the waitlist for the model has reached nearly half a decade.
Accidents and Incidents
The W-050 has been involved in no accidents and no hull loss incidents since its inception.
