Samwell Mechanized Industries, or Samwell is a Central Kafrican Military design and manufacturing corporation headquartered in Bown, Samwell. It primarily operates in the ground based defense industry, designing, modifiying and producing tanks for the Central Kafrican Army.
History
In 2092, with the inability or the perceived unwillingness by Ward Industries to modify the Rhodie Infantry Fighting Vehicle to modern standards during the Kafrican War, under the direction of the Kroman Senate and the executive branch, Rachel Kerman authorized the creation of Samwell Mechanized Industries to modify the Kroman Army's stock of Rhodie Hulls to meet the KAFSOC threat. This resulted in the changing of the Rhodie's armament to a CWIS cannon, or an AA capable missile turret. The CWIS Samwell-C would be capable of tearing through KAFSOC K1010000 vehicles. Samwell would continue iterating and experimenting throughout the war, managing to create a Samwell-C that could power a laser. Without Samwell's contribution, Kafrica would be a completely different continent.
Post-Kafrican War
Between the years of 2102 and 2115, Samwell would continue to maintain the Samwell-C units for the limping republic. As it regained power and influence on the global scene, it was required to upgrade the Samwell-C. Being the only government sanctioned Ground Vehicle design corporation, Samwell designed the Samwell S2, which would be the first domestic Kroman MBT. Featuring 3 layers of armor built around what was still effectively a Rhodie. Despite this the S2 would never see combat before the fall of the Republic in 2125.
Post-Krome
After the fall of Krome, Samwell Mechanized Industries would diversify into the civilian sector, supporting smaller, more local corporations to stay under the radar of hostile corporations, SMI would release various home products, such as the SMI Blend Blender and the SMI Smoothie maker. In the shadows it would still design, yet not manufacture military vehicles should the call ever return to the corporation.
