The Novenadian Space Force, or Novenasvemirskage (NSS), is the black-water naval branch of the Novenadian Armed Forces. The NSS often operates in conjunction with the AASC and other military branches of the PVC.

History

Formation

The NSS was officially formed on Midsummer 27th, 2201, on the 45th anniversary of the end of the Novenadian revolution. 2 years later, in 2203, it began active recruiting and announced plans to purchase Atreian hulls. As of 2206, the NSS is in the process of purchasing a variety of spacecraft.

Organization

Command structure

The NSS operates as an independent branch of the Novenadian Armed Forces alongside the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Special Missions Command. Structurally, it borrows many elements from the AASC, while generally operating a smaller fleet.

Unit organization

Task forces

Task forces are the largest continuous formation operated by the NSS. Much like those of the AASC, task forces are meant to operate independently or integrate with the larger AASC fleets. In order to cooperate with AASC command, task forces are commanded by a Rear Admiral (PVC code OF-7). Task forces are generally built around Bakan-class assault carriers or Hartfordia II class heavy cruisers.

Task forces are numbered as TFN-X, with X being a number assigned based on seniority and currently operating task forces (EX: TFN-1, TFN-2, ect.). When operating under AASC command, task forces follow AASC naming conventions.

Task units

Task units are another element pulled from AASC doctrine, and are centered around Skyflash-class destroyers supported by light units. Task units make up task forces, and are generally used to protect shipping, conduct anti-piracy operations, and perform small boarding actions. They are commanded by a Commodore or Captain (PVC code OF-6).

There are currently 2 active commands in the NSS:

• The Novenadian Fleet Operations Command
• The Novenadian Fleet Training & Logistics Command

The NSS also utilizes AASC NAVNETCOM for streamlined communications.

Shore establishments

As of 2206, all NSS establishments are located on Kerbin, either in Nrida or alongside the Novenadian Air Defense Force at Pecovia AFB.
