Fenta (/ˈfentə/) is an Aontan-owned brand of carbonated soft drinks created by A.G Holdings. There are over 50 flavors worldwide. Fenta originated in Grestin as an Ion-Brí alternative in 2136 due to ongoing trade embargos of the nation which affected the availability of critical ingredients. The current formulation of Fenta was developed in 2138 after lackluster initial sales.

History

Fenta is a derivative of the Aontan brand; Ion Brí and is manufactured by the same company.

Wartime Product

During the Three-Grestins Period the various states of former Grestin were under international embargo or blockade while the nature of inter-faction fighting left the borders themselves relatively transparent to the flow of goods between regions.

In 2136 the Ambargo plant of A.G Holdings unveiled and began the manufacture of a variation of the core formula free of Caffeine and additional Flavorings. This initial formulation found little commercial success leading into the proposal of fentanyl as a caffeine substitute.

Fentanyl could be artificially manufactured and transported to bottling sites in such small quantities that a months worth of product could be sent with a single on-foot courier. The name was the result of this key substitution.

Production of this new formula was commenced in 2138 to great commercial success. Fenta soon dominated the Grestian market with 6 million litres sold in 2142.

Modern Product

After the unification of Grestin in the 2150s a resumption of standard economic processes allowed the Fenta formula to be refined and standardised. Desipite resumed access to Caffeine, the decision was made to retain Fenta as a distinct brand and formula sold in parallel to Ion-Brí.

International Expansion

Following normalisation of international relations with Newest Grestin in the 2150s the Fenta brand sought to expand its sales base to international partners. The drink was heavily marketed in Kafrica and The UIF.

Overview

Appearance

Fenta Glass.png

Ion-Brí and Fenta are known for their bright blue colouration. As of 2200 it contains sugar, 57 flavouring agents, one colourant (Brilliant Blue FCF), and an additional controversial additive.

Fenta is typically distributed in stout glassware bottles with 2l and above having a diameter larger than their vertical height.

Variants

  • Fenta Zero: Sugar-Free.
  • Fenta Plus: Additional-Sugar.
  • Fenta Clear: Colourless edition of the drink manufactured to comply with sporting regulation.
  • Fenta Shock: Closer to a standard lemonade in flavor, this variation is a cloudly yellow colouration.

International

  • Fenta Black: Exported to Zokesia, blue colourant substituted for a deep brown in order to compete with local Dr. Grail offerings.

Limited-Edition

  • Fenta Breathe: Antihistamines as an extra inclusion, discontinued after first springtime 2155 run due to reports of reduced blood pressure.

Production

Modern Fenta is still manufactured primarily in an Ambargo industrial estate with regional manufacturing centres in key markets. Regulatory requirements in many states requires that Fenta is often shipped in liquid form in specialised tankers.

Controversy

Fenta has come under fire since international release for its caffeine substitute: Fentanyl

Several nations have issued age requirements or outright bans on the product. On 27 January 2190, soft-drink manufacturer A.G Holdings agreed to a voluntary ban on this additive in global exports although no date was set for their replacement.
