Coastal Consolidated Shipping Company, doing buisiness as CCSC, is a Fortis-owned, Fortis-based Conglomerate.
History
Coastal Consolidated Shipping Company, or CCSC, was founded in 2159 from several denationalized Laythian shipping companies.
Jurkom Service Co, Antarek, and Prusmuy LLC were bought out and incorporated into Baskay Coastal in 2155. BC sought to rebrand, and renamed itself as Coastal Consolidated Shipping Company in 2159. Baskay Coastal, the then largest Fortis based maritime shipping company, sought new investors. As part of a marketing scheme, the CCSC rebrand also incorporated new stock options for employees, and introduced several new routes, including routes from Fortis to other nearby countries. Before 2175, while it was still mainly a shipping company before conglomeration, CCSC shipped all freight, including commercial goods, civilian hazardous goods, and military freight as contractor (MFC) cargo.
As operations grew, CCSC purchased several semi-related businesses, including:
- Two Dockyards in Laythi, one in Ulkam, one in Kuka, and a smaller repair only yard in Zerban.
- A single heavy maritime engine factory in Laythi.
- A commercial radio communications electronics factori in Ulkam.
- The entirety of Fedithe Canalworks, which is responsible for nearly 60% of water utilities coverage to the city of Fedithe.
- Ulkam Logistics, an Ulkam based trucking company.
- Troakian Sandrail, a privately held Class III Railroad in Troakia.
By 2175, CCSC split all of its operations into separate unrelated but wholly owned subsidiary entities, becoming a conglomerate - the largest in Fortis.
The original shipping company was split off as CCF, or Coastal Consolidated Freight. CCF is widely known for its bright turqouise painted shipping containers.
