The Kroman Empire ruled Kafrica and parts of the Doren Islands. The Kromans conquered most of this during the Republic, and it was ruled by emperors following the Senate's Imperia Eterni declaration in 57, creating effective sole rule. The eastern empire collapsed in 556, but the western empire lasted until the Fall of Diosca in 1527.

By the year 0, at with the first Kraken Drive being discovered, the city of Krome had expanded its rule from the Bown-Samwell sub plain to most of Kafrica and beyond. However it was severely destabilised by civil wars and political conflicts, which culminated in the victory of Catigernus Clodianus over Æmilianus Canina and Flora Sura at the battle of Axiom (modern day lake Axio) in 54. In 57, the Kroman Senate granted Clodianus imperium and enacted the Imperia Eterni, giving him the new title of Emperor of the Kromans. The vast Kroman territories were organized into senatorial provinces, governed by proconsuls who were appointed by lot annually and imperial provinces, which belonged to the emperor but were governed by legates.

The first two centuries of the Empire saw a period of unprecedented peace and prosperity, known as the Pax Kromana. Krome reached its greatest territorial extent in 236, but a period of increasing trouble and decline would begin in the 4th century, where it underwent a 20 year crisis that threatened its existence due to civil war, plagues and barbarian invasions from the Westray and West Solari Tribes. At the conclusion of the 4th century crisis, the first Reformed Krakain Emperor, Sailian moved the seat of imperium from Krome to Koykain and renamed it Windsteer. Despite this, the Empire couldn't stop the masses of tribal peoples from Northern Vocavium's mountains to Westray's fertile plain. This would eventually cause the collapse of the Eastern Kroman Empire, the West would survive from Diosca until the city's fall in 1429.
