Baskay Class Aircraft Carrier

The Baskay Class is a class of Kalban light aircraft carrier ships under construction by the Nridia and Sokovo Shipyards for the Kalban Navy. It was designed to land a naval expeditionary unit in enemy territory, supported by Fighter and UCAV Aircraft, fullfiling an important role in the Kalban Navy's new doctrine for 2060's and beyond, and allowing amhibious naval operations with limited or no support from a supercarrier. It is also able to serve in a more conventional aircraft carrier role, working with or replacing a supercarrier in smaller navies.

The lead ship of the class, KVM Baskay was laid down in 2158, and started sea trials in 2162, following years of design work and political manuvering to approve the modernization of Kalban Aircraft Carriers. It is scheduled to enter service in mid-2163.
