History
Communist era (2073-2084)
???
Fall of communism and transition to democracy
In 2084, Belasirov's communist government was overthrown when it was invaded by the UIF, then known as the UCF, as it had taken part in Operation Shadow Realm as a member of the Third Way Alliance; however, it was defeated along with most TWA members. The UCF annexed part of Belasirov's territory, taking with them more than half of its GDP. Once relations between Belasirov and the UCF stabilized, the McKinley Plan was approved. Under this plan, the UCF handed back its cut of Belasirov's GDP to the former.
Once Belasirov's economy had recovered, the UCF would back Belasirov's plan to pursue the unification of the region into Belanirislav, which began in 2089.
Civil war (2087-2088)
Soruziye airport attack
On ?/?/2087, five terrorists, two of which were known to be members of the BNK, engaged in a deadly attack on Soruziye Airport. In the initial stage of the attack, a van with 7,500 lb of explosives was detonated, instantly killing the two occupants. The resulting blast damaged part of the airport and caused a mass panic among civilians, many of whom were about to board their flights or had just disembarked when this occurred. This was followed by the three remaining perpetrators entering the airport, who then began to open fire on civilians. Authorities were notified of the situation. When it was deemed out of control for them, Belasirovian Special Forces operatives were deployed to contain the situation.
Attempting to avoid capture, the three remaining men ran away from each other in a bid to try and get as far from the operatives as possible. When that proved impossible, they detonated their vests packed with explosives. By the time the attack was over, 103 civilians and five of the perpetrators had been killed. The attack is considered to be one of the catalysts for the conflicts alongside the fascist uprising in Dorislav.
Early stages: The end?
The first few months of the Belasirovian Civil War proved disastrous for the country, as its military hadn't fully recovered from equipment losses experienced during the Greater Kerbin War three years earlier. Combined with the formation of the BSBD from the BNK, anarchist and communist revolts in Sibilsk and Bysti, and desertions to either faction, Belasirov lost a significant chunk of its territory. With the anarchists and the BSBD closing onto Artod and its capital, Krotz, the situation seemed hopeless. It was only when the UCF, Owlia, and Arkadii-Zokesia intervened did it begin pushing back against the insurgent factions.

Back at war?
In 2088, while the Civil Wars neared their end, the Belasrian Troubles occurred. This ethnic conflict between Konignites and the Belasrians continued until 2090 during the second year of Belanirislav's existence.
