The Ilúsáid raidhfil mór 102mm (Multi-use large rifle 102mm) is a multi-purpose howitzer produced by Kravsmad and later Sahrland and still sees use in a heavily upgraded version today.
Design
Work began on the IRM-102 in 2090 as the grand duke began a modernisation program to replace the various pieces of foreign equipment found in the Kravsmadite royal armed forces. To lower costs and time, most of the artillery inventory was studied and reverse engineered to find the best features and combine them all onto one platform. The resulting prototype excelled in tests and was put into production the year after.
The gun combined the recoil and firing mechanisms from the MBT-X, split trail cartridge from a multitude of Zokesian designs, and the projectile chamber and muzzle brake of the ZHB HVHL. Initial gun shields were only 20mm thick but they would later be produced with a variety of shield designs. It fired a 105mm shell weighing 10.9kg at 1409m/s. It had 40 degrees of elevation but only 25 degrees of that were up, as the hilly terrain of Egercia would neccessitate significant barrel depression.
History
The guns were first deployed in limited numbers in the War of the Egercias but due to systematic failings were unable to be deployed against enemy armour until 2125, causing the first Sahren defeats of the war. They were then prioritised for anti-tank usage as they could easily disable the AV-06 railcar conversions which made up a majority of Sahren armour.
During the early part the war Rokfor Ordanas Monarcha was seized and moved northward into Khosa where it would remain even after the war ended. Production of the guns continued as the Sahren royal armed forces soon adopted them
