Hook BRZINAIR or Brznair, is a Fortis based Regional and limited international carrier mostly providing airline service in the Baskay coastal zone and Veiid. The airline is the only Fortis based carrier offering international flights, with most international flights to Fortis handled by other carriers flying out of West Hook International and Laythi Honor International Airport in Fedithe. International Operations of the carrier have been, until recent years, severely hampered by prior incidents and public perception due to mismanagement by the company.

Hook BRZNIAR's main hub is at the West Hook International Airport, servicing West Hook Island.

History

HOOK Brznair was founded in 2160 upon the opening of West Hook International Airport, which had then recently been built on the grounds of the relocated West Hook AFB (Now West Hook Naval and Aerostation, located some miles west). The Airline rapidly grew as the need for air-services returned to the economically recovering Laythian and Troakian territories in Fortis, and is the only native regional carrier operating in Fortis to offer full meal service on all flights.

Operations

Brznair's operational goals from 2170 to 2187 were centered around stable income, as it is a publicly traded company. Investors from Zokesia have in recent years increased, and as a result current shareholder meetings have included plans to increase the fleet size of the airline, as well as expand to terminals internationally. As of 2189, The company had invested in a shared terminal at Ezekialgrad International, operating alongside some smaller carriers, but later purchased its own terminal there in 2194.

As of 2199, The carrier maintains only four fully owned international terminals outside of Fortis. Other international terminal services operate on a shared basis with other air carriers.

Accidents and Incidents

Blowout Incident of HKB441

On January 7th, 2163, Flight HKB-441 between Zerban and Fedithe suffered a rapid decompression after a service panel blew out on the aft end of the aircraft, a FHI W-2022-100 Comforjet. The panel blowout caused internal damage, rapidly depressurizing the aircraft at altitude, forcing the aircraft to lower altitude and place a mayday call, delaying multiple flights into Laythi Honor International as the aircraft was placed on priority for landing. Two passengers died from High-altitude pulmonary edema after their oxygen masks failed due to improper servicing. Hook Brznair, wishing to avoid a lawsuit, settled out of court with the next of kin. The panel blowout was investigated internally by the company and found to be the result of improper training practices by ground crews servicing the carrier in Zerban. The ground crew servicing the aircraft had improperly affixed speedtape to the panel. Furthermore, the on-board emergency air system had been erroneously signed off as properly serviced by both the ground crew and the crew due to a miscommunication. Those responsible however were not found fully liable and were instead ordered into retraining. Multiple policies were taken by the company to avoid a future incident.

Loss of HKB417

On September 20th, 2170, Flight HKB-441 between West Hook International and Fedithe Laythi Honor International Airport suffered a total loss as the craft, a AFA M10-100 Pondskipper disintegrated mid-flight, killing all 30 individuals on board. Thankfully, the aircraft had not been full capacity, but the disaster was still one of the most deadly in recent Fortisian history. The black box of the craft was never found, and no hull remains have ever been discovered. The only remains of the craft include parts of the Tail, including the Craft's Tail Number, which washed up on Fish Island a year later. Several Inquiries were made into the safety of the Pondskipper class, but no structural issues were ever found with other existing aircraft, which have remained operational without major incident since the fatal loss. The company took a dire hit to passengers and stocks for almost four years as a result. The company incurred such a loss that multiple deals for new terminals worldwide were cancelled as public perception in the then fledgling airline dropped significantly. Flight Number 417 was retired as a result and the route number replaced with HKB-500.

Criticism

Hook Brznair has had a fair amount of troubles, most of which pertain to flight arrivals. A tongue-in-cheek "Hook Brznair - We'll get there when we get there!" pun that isnt easily translatable from Laythi is often said derogatorily by passengers even years later as a result.

Furthermore, Brznair has had a history of company mismanagement, and a number of severe incidents that have hampered public perception.
