After consulting imperial records in 2115, Zokesian officials discovered that there was never an official end to the Fish War, and therefore Zokesia remained validly the true owner of the islands. Aquaria was promptly issued an ultimatum to evacuate the islands or face armed confrontation. What followed was months of military build-up and posturing between Federation forces and the Aquarian Navy, though any climax was cut short by the sudden and unexpected bombardment and invasion of the Republic by North Sarconia on the 22nd of January 2115. The attacks, which began with the sinking of Aquaria's flagship the ANV-84 ''Lambchop T. Kerman'' leading the AQN's task force off the shores of Fish Island before any other more strategic targets, was most likely a deliberate attempt to false flag Aquaria into a two front war with Zokesia. This failed, but Aquaria was nevertheless paralysed into inaction by the fear of such an outcome developing over the following days, and would offer no further resistance when Zokesia seized the opportunity presented to it. |

Fish Island is a small polar iceberg located in Greater Baskay Bay, and the second largest of Kerbin’s ice islands. Though historically Spearkan territory, the island has been highly contested since the 2060s, particularly by the nations of Aquaria and Zokesia.
After the dissolution of the Spearkan Federation on Kerbin, the island has been a source of small scale conflict in the Bay, boiling over into the Fish War of 2062, and threatening to once again in 2110s, with another conflict averted only by the collapse of Aquaria.
Aquaria has maintained a claim on Fish Island since 2062
Zokesia has maintained a claim on Fish Island since 2062
Feliskia has maintained a claim on Fish Island since 2072
Etymology
It's an island full of fish, don't read too much into it.
History
Fish War
The Fish War started in 2062, after local fisherman from Owlia began using the island as a base of operation for whaling and hunting big squid. The increase in demand for squid in other parts of the world became a driving force, and soon overfishing became a huge problem, especially when the fisherman declared the island theirs to own, contrary to pro-fish's rights groups in Aquaria.
Reacting to the shocking and injust treatment of the rightful and titular owners of Fish Island, the fish, Aquaria deployed its Aquatic Operation Squad. This division of the miltary focuses on Equipping and training sea creatures for combat in all enviroments, and supported the fish in their fight. 30 Warhead Squids were deployed to completely encircle the island, and destroy any hostile craft attempting to exit. Cargo ships sailed to Elysium to pick up 3 tanks.
Zokesia, quick to notice the profitability of the market, began backing the fishermen in their claims, hoping they would align to Zokesia in return. Zokesian airborne troops airdropped into Fish Island, beating the Aquarian force there and aiding local fisherman in arresting the Spaerkan governor on the island.
The Aquatic Operations Squad, with the help of The Elysian Army, successfully liberated Fish Island after suffering minimal casualties. The Pro-Fish governor was released, and order restored.
A note was found at the site of the airdropping, simply stating “All these seas are yours, except Fish Island. Attempt no fishing there.” Zokesia vowed to return to fight again, but berore Zokesia could respond the state of NMC carpet bombed the island, wiping out everything not built underground. Thankfully, the ancient ice and rock making up the core of the island survived the decimation and the island went uninhabited for many years.
Over 2 decades after the Fish War, an event considered a defining moment in Aquaria’s history, The nation had finally returned to the island. The floating ice plateau was colonized by Aquarians and fish alike, and at long last the inhabitants of the floating ice plateau have a peaceful and secure life ahead of them.
Second Fish Island Crisis
After consulting imperial records in 2115, Zokesian officials discovered that there was never an official end to the Fish War, and therefore Zokesia remained validly the true owner of the islands. Aquaria was promptly issued an ultimatum to evacuate the islands or face armed confrontation. What followed was months of military build-up and posturing between Federation forces and the Aquarian Navy, though any climax was cut short by the sudden and unexpected bombardment and invasion of the Republic by North Sarconia on the 22nd of January 2115. The attacks, which began with the sinking of Aquaria's flagship the ANV-84 Lambchop T. Kerman leading the AQN's task force off the shores of Fish Island before any other more strategic targets, was most likely a deliberate attempt to false flag Aquaria into a two front war with Zokesia. This failed, but Aquaria was nevertheless paralysed into inaction by the fear of such an outcome developing over the following days, and would offer no further resistance when Zokesia seized the opportunity presented to it.
Operation Cobalt
10 hours after North Sarconia's declaration of war on Aquaria, The sound of high-pitched jet engines shattered over 50 years of peace on Fish Island. The massive runway constructed along the length of the island was now home to nearly two hundred Zokeisan aircraft, their bunkers and runouts littering the island from end to end. For days the air controllers of the Zokesian Air Force were straining themselves, coordinating aircraft patterns entering and leaving the tiny island, where pilots had been sweeping the seas, searching for the Aquarian navy in the hopes it may be wiped out before landing at Fish Island. But the Aquarians, suddenly wrestling with invasion from the north, did not set sail for the iceberg. Large sections of its 2nd fleet would later be detected moving east for the Fortesal straits. The decision was made then to launch Cobalt II once again, with an umbrella of fighters sweeping out the defenders as Galliant II transports delivered troops to the island. Now, the fight was being taken to Fish Island directly, and soon the sky would be blacked out by Zokesian aircraft. Zokesian Galliants landed under minimal small arms fire, which was later discovered to be a single citizen firing his old service rifle into the air. the Fish island airstrip was taken and the troops of 6th SS. Braviserstgeboren swept through the city, removing any suspected pro-Aquarian citizens and ex-military personnel.
About The Flag
Somewhere beyond the sea
Somewhere waiting for me
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailin'
Somewhere beyond the sea
She's there watching for me
If I could fly like birds on high
Then straight to her arms
I'd go sailing
It's far beyond the stars
It's near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing
I know beyond a doubt, ah
My heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet (I know we'll meet) beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing
No more sailing
So long sailing
Bye bye sailing
