Bomdasthei was an inland town in Sahr located between Dugthail and the Khelym river. It contained 2500~ citizens at most. It is known for the mine which it contained which contained numerous rights violations and saw some of the bloodiest peacetime labour disputes in Sahren history.
Etymology
The name comes from an older form of egercian meaning "house of ebomdas" referring to the people who lived there in the 1800s, the nation itself likely named after their leader King Ebomd. It is still heavily debated in the academic community if Ebomd was a real person or a mythical figure.
History
Iron and other ferrous metals were discovered in the hills south of Dugthail sometime in the early 1907s, but extraction did not begin until a small research grant was granted sometime in 1988. Fueled by recent military victories, In 1991 the mine was revitalized with the newwest Tekkian equipment which could be imported. Production soared to 1200 tonnes of ore annually, though Egercian mineral sector declined until end of the 21st century when it was essentially defunct with only 150 tonnes being produced annually.
In 2106 Cynaz Iskander Adaman of the Otbasi Adaman was awarded the land, and invested into new equipment and infrastructure to get it running again. Production rose to 400 tonnes daily by 2120, which accounted to 70% of all Sahren ferrous metals.
The Adaman Group's connections to the Republicans allowed for blatant disregard of regulations and rampant abuse of workers. Miners were paid the bare minimum legally allowed, and most of these wages were reinvested into the mine through a system of predatory billeting, which forced employees to rent basic neccessities such as bedding or equipment. To support this, recruiters scoured the land promising great riches and freedom for anyone down on their luck, hoovering in the undesireables of society to then cram them away in the dark and miserable underground.
Tensions finally reached a boiling point in 2172 as miners became inspired by other working class struggles of the time, starting a riot which consumed 3,192,000 Rút in damage and 31 killed. Undercover journalists were able to leak out reports and audio interviews to the press, enraging the public who forced the mine to shut down later that year.
The town was later integrated into the Dugthail administration itself for future neighborhood developements, but lack of funds have delayed these indefinately and there are no plans to begin work.
Geography
this place shows why hill and hell are similarly spelled.
