The Annsec A-7 Firescout is a single-engine turboprop aircraft built by Anssec, and used for scouting, ground attack and reconnaissance.

Design

Envisioned as a cheap counter to the waves of aircraft being massed against Zokeisa in the CSD blockade, the A-7 was cheaper, lighter, and more maneuverable than jet aircraft, and could be loaded with sufficient ground attack armament to make a difference in the coming battle for Zokesia. Though the war ended before the A-7 could fly, the design gained popularity for its cheap, rugged construction and found service as a scout aircraft as well as ground attacker in multiple air forces around Kerbin.

Variants

A-87 Twin Firescout

The A-87 was a field modification of the Firescout done by the Putaryan D'alawar in the 2140s to keep the type flying for ground attack operations. Despite the age of the airframes, the conversion was a success, with 35 total A-87s being converted in the 2140s, most of which are still flying today.

Operational History

The A-7 has participated in multiple actions with the Puge-Tatar defense force, most notably in the 2099 offensive to reclaim southern Bastia.
