Etymology

The name sahrland comes from a great migration of peoples which would alter the makeup of egercia happening sometime before 2116. They would name the land they inhabited "sahrlands" and eventually integrate into the peoples already there, nevertheless the name for the land remained but is often used the same way egercia is, especially when talking about the egercian language and people inside phoenian borders.

Foundation of the sahren state

As previously mentioned principality of sahrland was created after a great migration of people from inner kolus, people of the Vagani, Carsadonian, Saguaro, and Tata are likely origins of the nomads who would eventually migrate into egercia. Their state was founded around the time of the collapse of tekkia. The state was an absolute monarchy under Miden lavro the first. the state struggled to maintain legitimacy as and egercian ethostate because of the existance of chosaint to its south. Though at this time the tekkian collapse was occurring, creating a great deal of instability for both Chosaint and Sahrland, which left both states focused on internal matters, temporarily creating a shaky peace between the two countries. during this time the monarchy would gain large power over the state, earning Miden lavro the nickname "iron ruler". eventually though, the phoenian federal union state would annex Chosaint for its agriculture industry. Due to the low legitimacy of the state, it was unclear if the union state would attempt to annex sahrland as well. Although plans did exist to annex sahrland into the union state, the closest to an invasion that happened was a period of border skirmishes which only led to both sides seeking a truce.

Journey of the first principality

as all great leaders eventually do, prince Miden Lavro would eventually pass, and his son, named in his honour, would take the throne. Prince Miden Lavro the second would instead be known as a great reformer in complete contrast to the absolutist style of ruling his father had used. Under his leadership the popularity of the government rose due to a growing economy and increased international relations. though his reign was cut short when he died of a stroke one day, leaving his teenage son kirbo lavro to rule. In the instability following, a certain "nedfry svoboda" and his "movement for sahren democracy" began to amass power, to the point where kirbo lavro was forced into turning the country into a constitutional monarchy. this continued for a short while until the democratic republic of halgonia's radical actions such as forcefully modifying kerbals sparked interest in several nations. Sahrland was secretly invited to this coalition, with the purpose of sending a list of impossible demands to halgonia as a justification for war. Kirbo lavro would declare emergency powers to shut down the parliament and send the demands. this controversial action would become the eventual end of the first principality. although many nations backed the coalition, lack of direction and firm opposition by most other world powers doomed it from the start. additionally this proved to all factions in sahrland the monarchy could not be trusted. most political parties became hostile to the government, and also began violently opposing eachother so they could ensure their own victory when the monarchy fell. this almost tore the state apart, the government lost control of several key points of the country. eventually the military high command would launch a coup to take control of state affairs until kirbo lavro was deemed fit to rule again. the resulting junta would ironically only delay what they were fighting against.
