The Onicron MV-42 Hummingbird was a tilt-rotor light aircraft used by the Aquarian military. It operated as a light transport and gunship, being used for insertion and extraction missions, medevac, and providing fire support to troops.
Design
The MV-42 is primarily propelled by two four-bladed turboprop engines housed on wingtip tranmission nacelles, which can rotate to either 90 degrees up or 45 degrees forward. In addition, a pair of Corain Motors J-201 Turbojets situated behind the wings provide extra forward thrust, allowing the Hummingbird to reach greater speeds than previous Aquarian transport vehicles. The primary armament, a 30mm turreted chaingun, is located on the underside of the fuselage beneath the cockpit, and hardpoints on the wings can mount laser guided AGM-114 Hellfire missiles provided targeting data from a FLIR ball housed in the nose. Behind the cockpit, the passenger bay is slung under the fuselage.
