The F/A-64 Is a multi role fighter produced by Alterix designed to replace old designs in use by the ADU Air Force. Know as the Night Falcon by Air Force personnel.

Development

After a period of stagnation, the ADU decided to jump-start a fighter program under the designation FX-64 EFC (Experimental fighter competition). After a period of 10 revisions to the prototype including the change from a delta-winged fighter. The program eventually gave birth to the F/A-64Mk12 the first successful design. The whole program was marked as a success and rapid improvements were made to the air frame including new wing designs and also better range with the addition of detachable pylons. As of 2102 the F/A-64 program has been shelved and all funding for the program cut due to failure to produce a valid jet and production costs skyrocketing due to poor manufacturing. It was given a new lease on life after being accepted as part of the Nuvalkan Air Force in the late 2100s having 40 examples purchased.

Design

The F/A-64 is a uses a conventional wing layout and wing strakes. It also uses thrust vectoring and combined with the wing strakes gives it good maneuverability. It can be armed with a verity of weapons. Standard Air to Air stores includes 4 AIM-120As, 6 AIM-9Ms, and 1 20mm Vulcan cannon. With a verity of other payloads available to it as well. Later variants incorporated new wing strakes around the wing root. Giving it better maneuverability allowing for quick turns and fast reaction times to threat. It features a countermeasure package of 6 Flares and 4 Chaff launchers and has a jammer built into the tail to make radar lock-on harder. Although it is capable of Air to Ground, it is more suited to Air to Air combat thanks to its decent maneuverability and speed being more suited to flexibility.
