SRF-002 Jericho

The SRF-002 Jericho represents a radical design shift from conventional airframes previously encountered within the solari Air corps including the Garista and Stalker classes as the most recent.

The Jericho was originally designed for island hopping on Laythe where landing zones are at a premium and STOL is an absolute necessity, design inspiration and technical assistance was provided by the Mechani Union, specifically the trademark Tombstone cockpit and compacted albeit hyper efficient aero surfaces.

Jericho was rapidly adopted by Spring Canton after witnessing its exceptional handling and slight radar cross section, soon after RWS was approached to prototype and mass produce a militarised version dedicated to local canton air defence.

As the project neared completion the Solari Military Chiefs of Staff favouring the original philosophy presented by the SRF001 Stalker approached RWS with a string of additional requirements and design compromises designed to derail the light fighter platform:- -The plane must be able to be converted to a high speed reconnaissance platform exceeding 2200ms in air capacity -The plane must be able to perform as a CAS craft with a low end stall speed of less than 50m/s -The Plane must have a VTOL variant -The Plane must be prepared to adopt Laser Technology -The Plane must not exceed 33k in total cost per unit.

The Plane was able to surpass all of these objectives and as a result has been brought into the Solari Air Corps in full service.

Service

The Jericho is a very young design that has yet to see active military service however the design has been combat tested and proven more than a match for all previous Solari designs, going to far as to prove itself repeatedly against the Solari Agressor Squadron located in Spring Canton.

So far 300 have been produced and are split betwee 200 fighters attached to the Solari Naval Air Wing and 100 attached to the Canton Militias.

Design

The SRF-002 Jericho is a highly compact low cross section fighter designed around the concept of low RCS, high TWR and energy retention.

The design carries a standard complement of 4 air to air missiles of various loadouts and 2 Vulcan cannons or 1 30mm cannon.

The CAS loadout can vary greatly but the standard is currently 12 hellfire missles and 2 aim9 sidewinders.

The Solani Heritage of the design is clearly visible with the tombstone designed cockpit, Solari engineers are known to be particularly secretive around this feature following on from their Mechani counterparts.
