Geography

Urban Areas

Hearthia's southern border with Sarkyzia is heavily urbanized with major population centers being Hund and Hagel. Hun serves as a major air and space port, while Hagel has seen most of Hearthia's naval development.

Politics

Government

Herthia was formed after the Outer Wilds Ventures united the scattered groups and governments in the area under a single banner. Soon after taking power the company realized they lacked both the experience and resources to govern the country without sacrificing their aerospace mission. To counter this a Democratic government that allowed a smooth transition from the prior shattered states to the now unified Hearthia. This new government is heavily tied to Outer Wilds Ventures as the company takes care of most if not all of Hearthia's Military and space manufacturing needs.

Foreign Relations

Hearthia strives to maintain good relations with its neighbors and major powers. Through old connections the nation finds itself split between multiple different coalitions. This showed most drastically as Hearthia was dragged into a war with its neighbor Sarkyzia during the opening of hostilities between the "Basilsphere" and the IU.

Culture

Hearthian's are focused on three things, exploration, going fast, and explosions! Hearthians also have a strong sense of Honor. Suprise attacks, underhanded tactics, and unconventional weapons are frowned upon. It is seen as better to lose a sporting fight than win through underhanded means.

Religion

Something not of this world was found in the frozen plains of northern Hearthia that fuels the nation's drive to learn more about the universe around them. It is claimed by the leaders of the Cult of the Eye that Hearthia has in its possession a probe older than the universe itself. Interacting with the probe has given Hearthians visions of a universe long dead, inhabited by blue aliens with four eyes and a similar drive to explore the universe. Whether these claims are true or simply the result of a dead satellite and some shrooms is yet to be determined. But regardless the new religion has inspired Hearthians to achieve many things their scattered tribes could only have dreamed of.

Military

Air

Hearthia fields a multitude of different domestically designed and produced airframes supplemented by foreign designs during significant conflict where local production is unable to keep up with the need for new fighters. The Feldspar attacker, Hourglass Twins bomber, and Dark Bramble fighter form the triad of the Hearthian airforce. Imports from Zokesia help bolster numbers during times of crisis, with the Solanums (Z-41s) forming a major portion of Hearthia's ASF force.

Army

The Hearthian army remains untested, comprising almost entirely of license-built designs, Hearthia's army is mainly focused on the local defense of its borders. Designs are mainly from Solaria and PLAID, with the Nomai (Azir) and Yarrow (Navajo) tanks filling a majority of the frontline units. The domestically designed Mica truck, while functional for a multitude of support roles, is arguably one of the ugliest designs on Kerbin. The team behind the truck was understaffed, underfunded, and short on time. The Mica Mk2 promises to bring at least some level of pride to the Hearthian Army.

Navy

The Hearthian Boat Organization (HBO) is an amalgamation of prior river patrol forces. It's comprised of a mixture of modified IU hulls, PLAID designs, and Novenad imports. In its first engagement, 14 Hearthian vessles were lost when the fleet sailed into a Sarkyzian ambush off the shore of Sarkyzia itself.

Hearthia commits itself to peaceful space exploration. Their goal is to simply explore as much and as far as possible.

Notable Events

The "Winter Vacation" war was the first shooting war of the 2200s, where following the SS invasion of Nuriyamiq, Hearthian, Elohim, Novenad, and Sarconian forces united under the banner of sending the SS to a frozen grave.

When Blimp Drimp called for support, a significant portion of the Hearthian Airforce defied orders and hijacked a number of older aircraft to help the controversial figure evade capture. While they did perform well against their opponents, survivors were shot down and arrested upon their return to Hearthia.

"Operation Pesto" was the first major conflict Hearthia found itself in. As a part of the larger IU resistance to Basilic ambitions, Hearthia engaged in airstrikes against its southern neighbor Sarkyzia in an effort to cut off a major economic pillar of the "Basil-Sphere". After a major schism in 2208 where Hearthia's allies executed a surprise attack that even Hearthia was unaware of, the Hearthian Airforce in 2209 punched through the built-up defenses of Sarkyzia and destroyed all of their targets. While losses were high, Hearthia was able to recover with its allies. Sarkyzia, being cut off from Basil by a Zokesian Blockade, remained weakened by the attacks. The first enemy strike on Hearthia also occurred in 2209, when a massive force of Suborbital suicide bombers from Basil eliminated three airfields and 9 factories. The airfields were replaced by 6 that were being built, and the production lost was supplemented by international support.
