Baskay Petroleum is an energy conglomerate based in the Nrida Special Economic Zone in Novenad. It is a major provider of energy for Novenad and surrounding Veiidic countries.
History
Baskay Petroleum was created by Segs Inturkurs in 2164 as a merger between two local energy companies. Both companies had been vocal supporters of Lovro Horvat's regime, and were facing heavy persecution by the newly founded Novenadian Government. Following the merger, the companies were able to chokehold the energy market and force the government to halt investigations.
In 2167, NSEF agreed to provide funding on condition that Baskay Petroleum begin pivoting to more environmentally conscious forms of energy, perform an internal investigation to remove the higher-ranking employees with pro-Horvat leanings, and allow government oversight to ensure these conditions were being met. Baskay Petroleum agreed, and was rewarded with significant capital to develop their holdings and invest in the first nuclear power plants. The success of these plants led to the creating of the subsidiary Baskay Atomics, which undertakes the management of all nuclear-related operations.
