Shive, officially the Grand Duchy of Shive, is a city-state situated on East Kolus along the Western Norian Steppe by the Sea of Aontas. It borders Vagani to the south, with Azuria and Neo-Mechani to its immediate north. The majority spoken language is Namjjog. The country's territory comprises of the Walled City of Shive and the entirety of the Shiven Isthmus.
Shive has been inhabited by early Kolun Kerbals since at least 22,500 BCE. Its proximity to the sea and access to fresh water has permitted its continued inhabitancy by the late Proto-Mechan peoples and the modern Samagi.
As a city, Shive's trade and naval history through the Sea of Aontas has influenced its maritime culture.
Shive is a developed country with emphasis on maritime commerce; it is heavily reliant on its state and civil fleet for defense and trade. Fort Hyungeo within the citadel of the Walled City serves as a historic and national shrine.
