Prehistoric Bayconn was connected via a land bridge, allowing the Zokes to migrate south.

Prehistoric period

Bayconn island pre-ice melt, with lower sea levels, the Zokes could come and go from the island as they pleased, sailing up and down the coast of present-day Surnay to raid and gather.

Zokesia was probably first inhabited by those who crossed on the land bridge from the island of Bayconn. Kerbal footprints have been found from over 800,000 years ago in Bayconn and traces of early Zokesians have been found (at Freetowne Quarry, Zokesia) from some 500,000 years ago and modern Zokesians from about 30,000 years ago. Until about 16,000 years ago, it was connected to Bayconn by only an ice bridge, prior to 9,000 years ago it retained a land connection to the continent, with an area of mostly low marshland joining it to what are now the Crater Zentral and Wo'.
