GAC SA-5 Dagger
Template:Vehicle (air)The GAC SA-5 Dagger is a single-seat, all-weather, indigenous multirole/air superiority fighter designed by and for the Salred State Republic (SSR). The Salred Air Unit (SAU) started prototypes after the realization that the GAC SA-2 Thunderbrick was not sufficient for the roles performed by the SAU. Prototyping began almost immediately after the construction of the Thunderbrick. Like its predecessor, the Dagger is also produced by the Geoplex Aero. Corp. The contract for this plane does allow for exports.
Design
The Dagger uses a slightly different wing arrangement than a delta wing to allow for durability and better wing loading. The plane was also made to have a more modular and adaptable loadout than the Thunderbrick to allow for a better overall multirole plane.
