The Tachystani Liberation Front (TLF) is a private mercenary organization and asset redistribution corporation created by Shrep Tach as a freelance nongovernmental peacekeeping force formed in 2143. Since then, the TLF has continually grown in strength through substantial donations from several anonymous donors, whom the Tachystanis refer to as the "merchants guild."

The Tachystani Liberation Front operates on a strictly non-ideological mission structure, meaning it will take any job regardless of the client's affiliation or goals. Due to the broad range of potential clientele, the TLF provides a full range of military services, including combat, logistics, training, and manufacturing. Due to the non-discriminating method of job procurement, several governments have claimed the TLF is responsible for, including but not limited to, warcrimes, privateering, piracy, disruption of international trade routes, forced deportation, and slavery.

The TLF was the organization responsible for the Medsous terrorist attack of 2151, acquiring both the DC-12 airliner and sarin gas used in the attack that would ultimately claim the lives of an estimated 50,000 people. Despite threats of military intervention, Shrep Tach and other TLF leaders refused to disclose who had hired them. Despite the attack claiming the lives of thousands of residents of both Fortis and Desovo, during the Pike Agreement of 2152 between Desovo and Fortis, the TLF was formally cleared of all liability, and their license to operate within both countries was reinstated.

Origins

The Tachystani Liberation Front began as the Mamba Unit, founded by a former Laythian special forces soldier known only as "The Chief" at an unknown time, estimated to be in the 2120s. The Mamba unit would be involved in various military operations in South Veiid, operating on a similar model to the modern TLF, working with anyone so long as they provided adequate payment. The Chief was renowned for his innovative acquisition of military assets, and ability to ensure profit regardless of how dire the situation would become. At some point, The Chief would begin mentoring Shrep Tach as his protege and expected successor. In 2143, The Chief died under unknown circumstances, and Shrep Tach took up the mantle as the leader of the Mamba Unit, ultimately reforming the organization as the Tachystani Liberation Front.

The Modern TLF

Tachbase

In 2160, the Tachystani Liberation Front began construction of an offshore mobile headquarters known as the "Tachbase, an industrial hub and barracks capable of supporting a large number of soldiers for extended periods of time aswell as store and service any equipment that may be needed for a military operation, aswell as the manufacture of new equipment as needed. As of now, the source of funds to build such a vast complex of military hardware remains unclear. All attempts to uncover the source of the funding have ultimately been fruitless, with the only publicly disclosed information being that construction would not have been possible without the support of the "merchants guild," an as-yet unclear financial institution or group of donors.

Operational Structure

The modern Tachystani Liberation Front is organized into several different Regiments, each suited to different potential clientele based on price range and operational intent.
