The Kroman Republic is the second period of Kroman History, begining with the overthrow of the Kings in 410 BK, and ending with the passing of the Imperia Eterni in the year 57, creating the Kroman Empire. During this period Krome's control expanded from the city's immediate surroundings to the entire Kafrican world.

Kroman society at the time was primarily a cultural mix of Kroman and Vocavian societies as well as a mix of ancient Grestinian elements, these aspects are especially visible in the Voanistic Pantheon. The Political organisation of the Republic developed around the same time as direct democracy in ancient Westray, with collective legislatures overseen by a senate. There were annual elections however the Kroman Senate Assembly system was a democracy weighed heavily in favor of the social and economic elite of the time. Powerful families were more important to convince than the low-lying Kroman Plebian. Kroman Institutions underwent immense changes to adapt from running a minor city state on the Bay of Kafrica to the large scale of the Late Kroman Republic and Early Empire.

Unlike the Pax Kromana of the Kroman Empire, republican Krome was in a state of near-perpetual war. Its first enemies were its Zambi and Comeri neighbors who alongside their Grestinian allies sacked Krome around 367 BK. After the Grestinian sack, Krome conquered most of the surrounding region, by the year 300 BK, Krome had expanded into what is generally considered to be North Grestin, embarking on a series of difficult conquests and wars, defeating many great powers of the ancient world, becoming the hegemon of Vocavium, and the largest power on the continent of ancient Kafrica, expanding out of its local region of Central Kafrica.

At home, during the Kroman Class struggle, and the Social War between Krome and its Kafrican allies over citizenship and Kroman Hegemony over the region, mass slavery also contributed to these internal wars. Political violence and powerful semi-autonomous generals, a consequence of the rapid near constant expansion of the Republic, leading to civil wars between the major political factions of the day. A generation later, the Republic would be broken once more by generals with too much power for the Senate to handle. Resulting in Bretus Lamiemus being appointed as Dictator for life. Despite this he was assassinated in the year 38. Officially the Republic was dissolved in the year 57 by the Senate declaring Rubius Scripi as Lamus in the Imperia Eterni declaration.
