The Founding of Krome

The city of Krome, now known as Canfield, was a prehistoric event or process later embellished by Kroman historians and poets. Archaeological evidence indicates that Krome developed from the gradual economic integration of fishing and agrarian Wheet farmers during the final Bronze age or early Iron age. The unification of the settlements into a single polity by 700 BK was probably influenced by a drought causing mass crop failure, allowing the fishing villages to support the agrarian settlements.

Kroman myth held that their city was founded by Bromula, son of the war god Duna and the Drestal virgin Ikaie. Exposed on the Teor river, Bromula and his tiwn Koromi were nursed by a Capal near lake Canne, before being raised by the shepherd Cornelius. After taking revenge on their abandoning family by usurping their great-uncle Arneli, and restoring their grandfather to the throne of Teorannia. the brothers then established the town of Krome on the small mound near the Teor River, but fought over if the gods wanted the town to be by the sea or closer to the heavens. This dispute would end in the murder of Bromula, according to its founding myth, Krome was founded 3 months after the 3rd transit of Eve.

The legendary account was discussed and venerated among the Kromans and the peoples who followed.

After the expulsion of Tranqil during the overthrow of the Kings in 410 BK, lead by the semi-mythical Lucy Julianus Brucia and the king's powers were transferred into a consul lead elective diarchy, elected for a term of a singular year; each would be capable of preforming checks and balances against the other through means of Veto. The early Kroman Republic faced multiple attempts by the expelled king to reclaim his throne, these attempts did not succeed. Around the year 360 BK, Krome would begin expanding into the relatively poor Southern Comerii, in a state of near-perpetual war, the Republic would face multiple logistical and political problems, resulting in multiple civil wars which, at the appointment of Bretus Lamiemus to Dictator for life, the Kroman Republic effectively ceased to exist. Officially it would be dissolved when Rubius Scripi was hailed as Lamus under the Imperia Eterni declaration of the year 57.
