=== Origins ===
With the introduction of the ''Enterprise'' Class Aircraft Carrier into Owlian Service, the Union realized one immediate problem: It's speed, or lack thereof. Though able to carry over 40 aircraft, the ''Enterprise'' was unable to get anywhere very fast at its top speed of 26m/s. This was especially an issue when compared to like aircraft of the era- the ''[[Prince Class Aircraft Carrier|Prince ]]''[[Prince Class Aircraft Carrier|Class Aircraft Carrier]] and the ''[[Thunderchief Class Supercarrier|Thunderchief]]''[[Thunderchief Class Supercarrier| Class Aircraft Carrier]] being faster and overall better than the ''Enterprise''. Military Directive #92-13A addressed the concern in an open letter to the Ministers of Fegeland and Vocavium. This directive- Project Liberty- called for a smaller, faster aircraft carrier similar to ''Prince'' that allowed for Owlian forces to quickly arrive at the scene of an incident before the ''USS Allison T. Kerman'' arrived with the main attack force.

=== History ===
The first hull of the class- the ''USS United'' set sail from Vocavium en route to Owlia in 2094. The Carrier sailed to its home port of Reliant Naval Base in Liberty City before going on tour to Huturoa in Fegeland.
