Originally rising to promincence during the civil war and economic downturn that plagued [[Zalkent]] in the 2150s and 2160s due to the lucrative arms trade and drug trafficking industry that was built off the back of the wartime conditions. This allowed the Chairman, Kazuma Kashima, to sieze power from the rival clans within the nation and consolidate large swathes of power and income. Following the end of the civil war, the power of the Kashima continued to grow due to the instabilities in the nation that emerged from the ashes. During this time period, the Chairman expanded the organization to overseas territories including those in the [[Forsetti Peninsula]], [[Doren (continent)]], [[Baskay-Caledon]], and further across [[Firesvar]]. The Kashima still have a presence in Zalkent presently, although it is dwindling due to the increased governmental crackdowns as stability increases. This has caused the Kashima Clan to become increasingly international, operating in multiple areas including the newly established Larrean-Ikonia Undersea Tunnel.
