==History==
===Founding===
The Sahren Navy was founded in 2107 to police maritime trade as the [[Chevspendi]] transitioned into [[Sahr]] during the brief pause in the [[Chevspendic invasion]] from 2107-2122. The first naval expansion plan called plan Q (at this time the letter Q was not eliminated from the Egercian alphabet yet) began in 2131 with the launching of [[SN Khosa (No.23)]]. Plan Q called for the production of 6 [[Blokha class]] destroyers, 2 [[Slovale class]] missile cruisers, 2 [[Khosa class]] coastal battleships and one supercarrier. Lack of funding pushed the completion of this programme to 2150, leaving only two of the coastal battleships completed, one superbattleship, one destroyer, and one incomplete Slovale hull by the beginning of the [[Sahren Civil War]].

===Sahren Civil war (2144-2146)===
Chaos in the governance of the Sahren regency junta led to chaos in the naval administration, and thus orders could rarely be given. This also created chaos in delivering of funding, much of which is theorised to have been embezzled. These issues were compounded by the [[Pozhar Revolts]] when [[SN Blokha (No.25)]] was seized by dockyard workers to bombard Stihlovist positions in Khosa.

The Sahren Navy did not defect to any one faction during the civil war due to their innefective command structure and instead various ships defected to different foreign countries until the war was over. Of note, the flagship SN Khosa and its screen SN Blokha made a run for [[Phoenia]] while avoiding land based air attacks, along with SN Medraria after a short battle on the deck of the ship.

===Forever Peace (2146-2196)===
Funding for military programmes dropped to it's lowest in the forever peace but anti-corruption measures managed to increase naval resources to effectively higher than pre war allocations. As Sahrland and [[Phoenia]] developed a more favourable relationship there came pressure from the Phoenian navy to increase the size of the Sahren Navy as it was now the de-facto Aontan sea fleet. By the end of 2158 two new Phoenian designed corvettes finished manufacturing, though these were reclassified to destroyers.

The hysteria of 2160 did not effect funding of the Sahren navy as much as it effected the [[Sahren Republican Guard|Republican Guard]].

Still underway, the ships undergoing refit or construction have yet to come out of their docks which are draped in tarps to avoid sighting. The navy is categorized into two fleets, the Aontan sea fleet and the Veiid fleet. As a result of Aontan military federalisation, in times of war the Sahren navy is to become the Aontan sea fleet of Aontas and take command of all Aontan ships in the Aontan sea.

The '''Atlasian Civil War''' was a conflict fought on the Caledon archipelago between the years of 2141 and 2145. It was fought between the Patriots of a New Atlas, United Revolutionary Front, Regional Defence Council, Republic of New Atlas, Atlasian provisional government, along with the smaller groups. The civil war occurred directly after Atlasian attempts to put down the [[Freforn rebellion]] and the two are often considered part of the same conflict. Due to the tense peaceful rearmament many nations were going through in the 2140s, foreign involvement was limited in this conflict.

The Caledon archipelago saw untold growth of poverty after the collapse of the maritime industry in 2100, which was the main economic sector of the [[Atlas|UAS]]. The economy reached it's peak low in [[Calendar|July]] 2139 with an unemployment level of 70% and having shrunk 48% since the beginning of the crisis. The economy began to recover slowly due to a combination of long term recovery programmes and Atlasian allies ordering ships built in their yards in order to support their geopolitical strategy.

=== Freforn Rebellion ===

For the next 19 months after peak low conditions improved drastically on the mainland, while the outlying islands lagged behind in recovery efforts.

In [[Calendar|December]] 2140 a spontaneous wave of riots in Freforn overthrew their local governments, forming their own and declaring independence. The gutted Atlasian armed forces commandeered and retrofitted patrol vessels and cargo ships to supplement their own forces. The resulting attempts to retake Freforn incurred heavy casualties on both sides with only a minor beachhead established for the federal government.

Meanwhile a drug smuggling crisis between [[Nuvastia]] and [[Surnay]] resulted in Nuvastian naval vessels beginning patrols to stop the smuggling. Economic slowdown caused by this crisis indirectly impacted the fragile recovery of the Atlasian economy, which resulted in another economic collapse similar to the one in 2100, undoing the last 40 years of progress.

The Second Kerrag war (also known as the Celeste war or War of the Unholy Coalition) was a brief globe spanning conflict initially between [[Elohim]] and the [[Imperial Union]], later expanding to include [[Hearthia]], [[Atlas]], [[Frigonia-Mercatoria]], [[Aontas]], and rebels in [[Celeste]] and [[Orion Svarskia|Imperial Svarskia]].

The kings of Elohim had plans to conquer the flube and kerrag speaking lands in Celeste dating back to the 2130s. Their merchantile class also desired dominance over lake () and ports in the Wakir sea, which would neccessitate taking Celestial territory. However the relative economic strength of Elohim and their lack of strong allies (losses in basil and debt making IU vulnerable) (rhudbeal stuff) (whatever that pull out of celeste ultimatum was)

Frei-ako Tengin is a political theorist from [[Sahr]] most known for [[Ascensionism]]. He is also a member of the [[Sahr|Sahren]] parliament.

== Early life ==
Tengin was born in the agricultural comune of Sys in 2178 and grew up there. Much of his childhood is unknown, but has been described by Tengin as full of hardship and strife due to the decline of the Sahrland-Bastia commonwealth and the death of his younger brother Tekina to a [[Sahren Civil War|civil war era]] landmine.

=== Schizophrenia diagnosis ===
Tengin acted strangely after Tekina was killed by a landmine in 2188, having few friends despite being very sociable. From the age of 16 onward he began even stranger behaviours. Some of his more insomnia inflicted neighbors made a habit of studying his odd behaviours at night. He would often sneak out of his home and lay in the local cemetary until he presumedly fell asleep, then proceeding to sneak back in as if he was in his bedroom the whole night. At one point he discovered how to climb up the mineret of the abandoned mosque. Tengin would then spend much of his nights in that spire. At the age of 19 in 2196 his neighbor Klara othuad reported multiple instances of him arguing with seemingly no one. He was confronted about this and he claimed the stars were telling him to jump off and fly to them, but that they couldn't understand that he was unable to fly. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia on (date) 2196 and prescribed antipsychotics.

Tengin's entrance into politics was sudden, as without warning he had [[Ascensionism|The Ascensionist Edict]] published in late 2197. The book sold surpisingly well, eventually spawning several movements along with a secret society for the implementation of Ascensionism in Sahrland.

Ascensionist theory is an evolution of the original Republicanism movement of Sahrland, but with a focus on consistant exploration of the sciences and art.

After his schizophrenia diagnosis his neighbor Klara Othuad who had originally reported the delusions began to keep in touch with how Tengin's condition developed. The two became fast friends and eventually lovers. By 2199 they were married.

The Novenadian Revolution was a civil war between the Varkrimeski-led New Kalban Republic and Novenad (then a coalition of states seeking independence from the NKR). It lasted just over a year from 2154 to 2156, incurring heavy losses for both sides. The Revolution resulted in the dissolution of the NKR and the creation of modern-day Novenad, as well as the secession of Sokovo and Southern Karjina from the NKR, with the two states promptly joining Fortis.

=== Background ===
Aleksander Varkrimeski seized power from the Yellow-Red Coalition on the 24th of Paril, 2153, and began a crusade against those in the NKR who didn't follow his interpretation of Patrism. His primary targets were prominent figures aligned with the Veiidic-Baskayan Church, but after a mental breakdown he soon began a campaign of terror against the general population. Varkrimeski announced on national television that he would "purify the religous community of the disgusting infidels who still believe in traditionalism." Fear permeated the nation, with most people locking their doors or fleeing their homes and cities in the following weeks. Varkrimeski sent the specially formed task force Religiosna Sila Prostichavan (Religious Purification Forces), composed of his most loyal squadrons and commanders, to round up anyone who had publicly promoted traditionalist views and threaten reprisals for those who refused to report traditionalist Patrists.

The independent nature of NKR provinces, religious persecution of prominent figures, and socio-economic instability brought on by the sudden change of leadership led to several breakaway states forming; Novenad, Belkagranic & Ladnovizen, Sokovo, and Southern Karjina, with the latter two seeking to join the Federal Republic of Fortis. Among these, Novenad split from the NKR at the end of 2153 as a collection of provinces that had significant political autonomy prior to Varkrimeski's coup. These provinces were able to collect enough support from the elements of the 3rd NKR National Army disloyal to Varkrimeski to form their own small military. The Novenadian Revolution officially began Midsummer of 2154, after Varkrimeski directed the NKR National Army to retake Novenadian territory. He flatly refused to declare war, which he stated he considered would be recognizing Novenad as a country.

==== Initial attacks ====
The 1st National Army attacked through a southern pass, but fighting stalled early on as both sides stood down to maintain defensive lines after suffering significant losses. From 2154 to 2158 a series of unusually cold winters plagued the two sides, stalling offensive actions and slowing down attacks by the NKR. Follwoing the failure of the southern offensive, the 2nd National Army was directed to push through the Karjinian Plateau to strike at the heart of Novenad.

==== Stagnation ====
The majority of fighting throughout the revolution occurred in the Karjinian Plateau, in near constant snow and harsh weather. The Plateau sits at roughly 6000 meters above sea level, and remains above the snow line for most of the year. NKR forces were ill-equipped for cold-weather warfare, and expended significant resources in taking the plateau. The winter of 2154 was particularly rough, with the plateau receiving 5 meters of snow over the course of the winter in contrast to the average of 3 meters. The 3rd National Army developed techniques for mountain warfare, utilizing skis to keep infantry mobile, requisitioning tractors and tracked vehicles from locals to transport equipment, and using the friendly Patrist monasteries unique to the Karjinas for shelter and supplies. [[Spiyrt]] became a high-value commodity for both sides during this period.

For the 1st and 2nd National Armies, the environment of the Karjinian Plateau was too harsh for the conscripts, who mostly came from the subtropical northern areas. Morale was reduced by frostbite, hypothermia, unending guerilla attacks from the 3rd National Army, and the splitting of the NKR. Many soldiers in the 1st and 2nd National Armies were from Belkagranic & Ladnovizen or the southern states, both of which had split from the NKR leaving soldiers fighting for a country they had no real ties to. Desertions were high for NKR forces, leading to strange customs such as the 23rd Infantry tying soldiers to each other to prevent one from running off. Actions like this further reduced morale and created a miserable situation often compared with combat in terms of quality.

==== NKR breakthrough ====
In November of 2154, Varkrimeski diverted most of the the 1st National Army to the Karjinian Plateau, with the exception of a minimum defensive line. These reinforcements as well as the rising snow line with the onset of summer strengthened morale for the NKR, allowing them to renew their attack. The 3rd National Army suffered significant losses during this offensive, and was forced to retreat from the Karjinas entirely.

==== Belkan involvement ====
Varkrimeski then turned his sights to the formerly neutral state of Belkagranic & Ladnovizen, and began an assault on their borders. Belkagranic & Ladnovizen had been preparing for an attack since declaring independence, and had close ties with the nation of Belka dating back several decades. This diplomatic relationship brought in significant Belkan support for the Novenadian forces, now united with Belkagranic & Ladnovizen. This support changed the nature of the war from asymmetric to symmetric, increasingly in favour of Novenad.

During this period many extremist factions on the Novenadian side began to diminish in number and influence, due in large part to being pushed into dangerous assignments. Lucija Berislav admitted in an interview with the [[Balgred Post]] that this was an institutional push to weed out groups that could sidetrack the path to democracy post-revolution.

Resources provided by Belka alongside manpower from Belkagranic & Ladnovizen allowed the 3rd National Army to mount an offensive campaign through the stagnant and poorly defended southern passes, forcing the 1st National Army to divert attention from the Karjinian Plateau to reinforce their southern defenses. This created an opening for a push by the 3rd National Army into the Karjinas, forcing the now severely underequipped 2nd National Army to retreat entirely.

Now with control of the Karjinas, the 3rd National Army encircled the 1st National Army, breaking their lines and forcing them to surrender completely.

By June of 2156, the 2nd National Army had been backed up to Belgrad, and the 3rd National Army had a decisive advantage in both equipment, manpower, and morale over what was left of NKR forces. Strikes on military hubs were nearly constant, and the supply lines of the 2nd National Army were in tatters. On the 20th of Midsummer, Aleksander Varkrimeski disappeared from the capital between 12:30 AM and 5:00 AM. Suddenly without leadership or direction, the young and inexperienced command structure collapsed and the 2nd National Army surrendered to Novenadian forces.

The NKR welcomed the end of the war and liberation from the tyranny of Varkrimeski's fanaticism, and mass lynchings of NKR officials took place across the country. Lucija Berislav, a leader of Novenadian forces during the revolution, took office as interim Prime Minister and proclaimed the day a national holiday, promising a peaceful transition to a democracy as soon as political upheaval began to settle.

Government inaction before Operation Kerosene led to the city's garrison taking matters into their own hands and seizing the ship to bombard [[Khosa]] until the rebels surrendered. These plans failed as the guns were innefective for bombardment and only 13 shells were on the ship, 6 of which being blank shells for training. The threat of the ship however caused the Sahren stihlovist republic to place forces on the coast in preparation for a possible landing, drawing them away from the actual naval invasion across the lakes during Operation Kerosene. Blokha left the area and returned to port soon after, upon which the crew were praised by the Klensagradites as they believed Blokha was an instrumental part in the battle despite not firing a single shot.

The Sahren Navy was unable to mutiny due to Phoenian and Zokesian Naval power projection. [[SN Khosa (No.23)|SN Khosa]] and Blokha were both docked in [[Klensagrad]] during the outbreak of hostilities, and there was fierce debate among the officers as to their plan of action. Their hands were forced when Khosa came under attack by partisans who wanted to seize the ship. The two vessels attempted to make a run for [[Khosa]] to secure the docks and wait out the war but Blokha experienced engine failure, forcing the two to divert to [[Phoenia]] instead where the ships were internned.

During the Aughtafael coup SN Blokha defected to the SRGIA and sailed to Vuchalla to once again threaten to bombard a country's capital if it does not surrender. The defection was made known to the Sahren government, and the [[Korych]] were quickly assembled to seize the ship before another local naval power could cause the situation to escalate. Poor weather caused many paratroopers to miss but they were still able to land and seize the ship. Blokha then continued sailing to Vuchalla in order for the Korych to disembark in case a civil war broke out and they were needed. The situation de-escalated before this could happen, however.

During the dissolution of Sahrland-Bastia Blokha was in a shipyard in Upper Bastia, which would imply the ship would go to the Bastian navy. The sailors then mutinied to sail into Tekkian territorial waters and travel up the coast to [[Klensagrad]]. The reaction from Bastia was nonexistant, as many other military assets were being seized and moved to [[Sahr]] at the same time.

SN Blokha sailed into the [[Klensagradina Stahdulga]] for planned refits in 2197 and covered with a tarp to maintain secrecy. In 2199 the ship left and entered active service for another six years. The old vessel's maintenance costs had skyrocketed and the hull was too small to be competitive against other vessels in its class, and many saw its refit as a mistake. After [[Madi Samatov]] was appointed High Admiral of the [[Sahren Navy]], her revisions to [[Plan Æ]] slated Blokha to be scrapped by 2205.

Much of the historical community raised objection to the decision not to preserve Blokha as a museum ship, and after a fundraising campaign the City of [[Khosa]] Historical Society purchased Blokha and had her converted into a public park. On Meálhtyk 14th the park was opened to the public

All three Slovale-Class hulls had little progress by the time they were marked for conversion. Initially the [[Sahren Navy|Navy]] wanted to lay down a new [[Gardaskomandalik Frakchiya-Class Missile Cruiser|Frakchiya-Class]] cruiser to similar specifications and then convert the Slovale hulls to that, however shifting priorities and budgets called for a much smaller fleet in which the missile cruiser was deemed unneccessary. Of these hulls Slovale was the furthest along while No.38 and No.37 were partially constructed hulls which had not yet even recieved names. The need for parts resulted in Slovale being scrapped and many of her components being used on these new ships which were given the names Prionsa Stahl (Steel Prince) and Kagillaokh-rí (Child-warrior King) after the nicknames of Miden 2nd and the then newly re-inaugerated King Kirbo.

The Type-27 Anti-tank lance is the last model of single-shot breach loaded anti-tank lances produced by the [[Adaman group|Adaman Armoury]].

=== Operation ===
War austerity ommitted many of the more frilly features of the lance. A single 102mm round is loaded, chambered, and then fired. A bipod is mounted on the front end which can either be used for firing in a prone position or while standing. This bipod marked a significant change as previous lances were exclusively held below the waist or aboe the shoulder as they were intended to fire while mounted on [[Capal]]s.

It fires a 102mm shell adapted from tank cannons at a remarkable speed of 855m/s, which should in theory spew plasma into the target on impact. The extensive cooling cone found on all anti-tank lances is thinner on this variant, making up for increases in weight elsewhere but increasing risks of mechanical failure. A high explosive shell was also issued but was less useful as the muzzle velocity prohibited the use as an indirect fire weapon.

Initially it was planned to feed from a large magazine containing 3 shells total, but war measures neccesitated a simplified design and a short developement cycle.

The Avarua-Polengairdten armed forces directly succeed the [[Phoenian Astrofleet]]'s Joolian squadron. When [[Phoenia]] dissolved in 2184 the Joolian squadron was reformed to provide security for the colonies as their status would be in limbo until integration with [[Sahr|Sahrland]] in 2207. Logistical difficulties resulted in Avarua-Polengairdt being allowed to keep its own armed forces.

The reformation of Greater Aontas put to end the 34 year long period between the first and second administration of greater Aontas. This period between the two unions was largely defined by nationalist separatist movements and fragmenting of the previous states followed by a near unanimous growth of pan-aontism as these conflicts drew to a close and the new states sought to use their cultural similarities for geopolitical agreements.

== Background ==
The first Greater Aontas gradually faded out of existance after the 2115 war of the three grestins. Technically it continued to exist only on it's western territories, but it was largely considered to be a rump state until union with [[Iroa]] caused [[Phoenia]] to form. From then on it existed purely as a territory operating within Phoenia. Around this time new states consisting of the Aontan linguo-ethnic group began to take shape and conflicts erupted.

By the end of the [[Sahren Civil War]] Pan-aontism movements became far more legitimate as almost country making up the larger Aontan ethnicity in theory had stable and compatible political systems, the notable exception being [[Ophir]].

Representatives from [[Sahr]] and [[Phoenia]] met at Cath in month 2149 to discuss acts of union. Svoboda was hoping that by setting in motion the act of union he would bring stability and effectively tie the Sahren government to it's Republican roots. Another aim of the meeting was to solve the status of the Egercian speaking lands in Phoenia which Sahrland claimed as their own. Both sides agreed to the condition that they must be allies in foreign policy, but quickly devolved into arguing when solutions to the Egercian problem were presented. The Sahren government did not back down in part because any further strain on the administrative capacity of the country would have possibly triggered another conflict, which meant there was not a legitimate reason to offer any compromises as integration issues were more or less garunteed. An account by one of the diplomats present at the meeting paints the scenery well.

The Phoenian then stood up and yelled that they should have just invaded Sahrland in the Strait war. This was then repaid by the Sahren stating they would have stolen all the Tekkian gas as soon as their vehicles crossed the border. It then devolved into a series of objects being thrown and many interventions to prevent an all out brawl, which happened anyways. All things considered, this was the most peaceful meeting since the Cath Accords began.|cite=}}

Despite these disagreements, the Cath accords of 2149 became a basis for further integration. They lifted restrictions on trade and immigration, along with developing a unified foreign policy.

Initially Wuste and Bastia were included in the accords but quickly pulled out as being included in an increasingly Aontan centric union would have marginalized their interests. This created the peculiar situation where Sahrland-Bastia and Sahrland as political entities remained in the agreement, but the Bastian entity was not included.

Karlo frakchiya's presidential campaign promised the reunification of Greater Aontas and was supported by pan-Aontan nationalist groups. Frakchiya compromised on the issue of Ria, reasoning that the more Tekkian character of the city would make it harder for Sahrland to integrate the territory. He and many others in his government were in favour of a government encouraged internal population migration northward. With this compromise reached, the Phoenian administration agreed to the transfer of Rokfor and Baile under the condition that if Sahrland were to leave the provinces would go back to Phoenia. These terms were considered acceptable by both sides and the treaty was ratified on month 2150.

The '''Blokha class destroyer''' is a group of five destroyers produced by the [[Sahren Navy]] during the [[Chevspendic invasion]], with only four being finished to original specs. They were rushed out of production to fill wartime neccessities, with the exception with [[Leamhan (ship)]] which was cancelled and sold to a civilian shipping company. All five were named after various insects.

After the subduction of [[Dugthail]], most of the other northern Egercian lands fell to the [[Chevspendi]] quickly and the nation of [[Sahr|Sahrland]] was formed. A [[Sahren Navy]] was shortly created and it's newly appointed Chief of Navy Yerik-dana Akhatov set out to draft a doctrine and a naval expansion plan, which eventually evolved into Plan Q. This called for 5 small river-capable warships, three medium sized river-capable warships, and 1-2 large oceangoing warships, along with several small torpedo boats and coastal defence craft. These small river-capable warships became projects 22, 25, 27, 28, and 29 whose construction was to be headed by An-Tohyon, a foreign naval expert from [[Mechani]].

Domestic shipbuilding in Sahrland had several challenges in this time. Maritime expertise and naval tradition was essentially nonexistant, vehicle production was also essentially nonexistant, dock sizes were very small, and the materials needed like aluminium, steel, and the machined parts were only able to be produced artisinally. Additionally there was not a single facility capable of producing large cannons or large engines in the entirety of the nation until late 2125 when the [[Rokfor Ordanas Monarcha]] was seized and relocated northward. Entire industries would need to be developed before a single ship could be laid down.

=== Characteristics ===
The vessels were armed with a primarily gun-based armament of six [[IRM-102]]s which had been given lengthened barrels, housed in three twin turrets in a one fore two aft arrangement. Their defensive suite consisted of an extensive six 20mm anti munition emplacements as it was predicted a potential enemy would seek to exploit their missile advantage to the fullest extent.

For propulsion they utilized two large custom made LFO-electric turbines which were each essentially four Type-2109 LFO turbines arranged together. Each of these two powered a single three bladed propellor

Laser rangefinders were fitted into each turret which would feed data into a central analogue fire computer in the bridge. Fire control was not assisted by radar, and the only radars present were used for directing the anti munition cannons. Later refits addressed these issues in a piecemeal manner, making every destroyer differ significantly in this aspect of design.

Construction was marked with difficulty due to lack of experience, manpower shortages, and inconsistant funding. The rapidly changing nation also rendered many design choices obsolete on launch day, as the missile shortage was gradually alleviated and the strategic requirements of maritime service changed. Instability and the [[War of the Egercias]] led to many being rushed out of production with large flaws. Notably, Blokha sailed out with only 13 shells and faulty electrical machinery which later led to her internment in [[Phoenia]] during the [[Sahren Civil War]]. Their extensive gun armament for their size also contributed to stability issues which diminished accuracy and seakeeping.

Born to a poor family, Calbrett spent his childhood within the confines of a small nomadic tribe in the Avem mountains, and was tasked with herding livestock since a young age. At the age of 7, both his mother and father were killed in an avalanche, along with many other members of the tribe, leaving him in the care of the tribe's shepherd, Dolrus, who served as his mentor and from whom he learned a great deal about herding livestock, navigation, leadership and inner strength. By the age of 12, Calbrett had succeeded Dolrus as the tribe's shepherd following his death, and was renowned as a precocious prodigy by all who met him. Hardened by his tragic childhood and the time spent with his mentor, Cabrett became an integral cornerstone of the tribe, being sought after for advice and guidance.

During a migration south to escape the encroaching winter weather, a snowstorm swept through the Avem mountains and trapped the tribe atop a glacier, blowing the tribe's leader off the edge of a precipice. Calbrett took command of the situation and succeeded in shepherding his people to the safety of the Atksak Caldera, shielding them from the harsh winds. Following this act of heroism and in search of a new leader, Calbrett was voted by the tribe as their new Chieftain. However, another contender was enraged by this decision and challenged him to a duel, demanding that the issue be resolved through a bout of combat, which was to take place immediately. Equipped with only his shepherd's crook, Calbrett fought the assailant who attacked him with the horn of a goat. His attacker's weapon, however, proved impotent, as the bitter cold had made it brittle, shattering like a shard of ice as it made contact with Calbrett's stout cranium. Using his crook, he caught the now unarmed challenger by the neck and threw him to his death from the ledge on which the fight took place, securing his position as leader of his people. Following the battle, members of his tribe named him 'Shatter-Horn' in recognition of his exceptional osteological fortitude, a title which has now been ingratiated into Calbrett's family name. Subsequently, his small tribe became known as the Shatter-Horn Clan, which would ultimately grow into the Fortis province, and eventually becoming the ancestral roots of the Federation of Vocavium itself.

Growing up as a nomad amongst the mountains, Calbrett is exceptionally hardy and strong, both in body and mind. His spartan lifestyle and stoic mannerisms are famous throughout Vocavium, and he has never been known to lose his temper, or even raise his voice. His patience and sincerity are legendary, and have been instrumental in diffusing the bitter feuds between the warring tribes before the unification of the federation. Despite his calm demeanour, however, he is unafraid to exercise physical force when he deems necessary, being forced to intervene on a number of occasions in fights between tribe members. His stout build and muscled frame afford him frightening strength, and none who have opposed him in combat have bested him. Even in his old age he remained entirely compos mentis and physically fit.

After becoming leader of the Shatter-Horn Clan at the age of just 17, Calbrett quickly sought a wife, knowing that the key to securing his family name and starting a dynasty was to father a son. He was wedded to '''Jelissa Myrone''' in 2014, whom he remains happily married to. After years of trying, their first and only son, '''Raminus Altum Shatter-Horn''', was born on the 28th of January, 2067.

In 2084, Calbrett suffered the first in a series of serious coughing fits that were deemed by his personal doctor as the beginning of the end. Despite a hardy constitution, he admitted publicly that his strength was fading with each passing year, and that by the end of the decade his time may be up. As of 2085, auxiliary powers have been allocated to Raminus in the event that Calbrett passes unexpectedly. Making the most of his remaining time, his twilight years were focused on developing the Vocavian Navy, personally mandating that the Vocavian Naval assets should be second to none.

In late 2089 Calbrett Shatter-Horn passed. He was accompanied on his deathbed only by his son, who was stricken with grief such that for several weeks he refused to speak with anyone while he resided in the family's home in the Avum mountains.

The Shipbuilding Renaissance was a transitional period of worldwide maritime industry toward larger and more complex vessels following the beginning of the [[Timeline|Era of Strife]]. Beginning in the late 2070s in areas with strong naval tradition (such as [[Aquaria]] and [[Vocavium]]), the Shipbuilding Renaissance had spread all across [[Kerbin]] by 2090. This transition included the developement of the neccessary propulsion systems, weapons, lifts, protection, logistical networks, harbours, and the industries needed to support these. This period also marks the end of the shipbuilding slump which hit prior to the [[Great Decline]]. By the 2080s [[Vocavium]] and [[Aquaria]] were leaders in this Renaissance, having the infrastructure to mass produce vessels over 150 metres long.
